South Florida’s DeadStar Assembly are about to launch their musical delirium into the masses once again with their first tour in over two years. The band will embark on a 20 city tour with Team Cybergeist (Angel Bartolotta – Dope) on select dates in support of their third studio effort “Coat Of Arms” to be released in March and April.
To all of our dedicated fans around the world, please welcome new drummer Kriz D.K. to the DSA Family! We've posted a blistering video that displays his percussive artillery that will be instrumental in the upcoming "Coat Of Arms" assault! Cyggy left in June 2008 to pursue other interests outside of the band and was unable to commit to any future DSA projects. We wish him the best and thank him for his talent, contributions and years spent destroying the stage with the band! Now check out the Kriz D.K. Video and give our new disciple a shout out! "Coat Of Arms" will be unleashed to the world soon, we thank you all for your undying support!
I guess I'm not the only one who gets overly excited when listening to the new music we've been writing.
When we finished working on the new song called "Blood Bags" We blared it through the speakers at the studio and Dearborn lost his cool. He went mad for a few seconds and picked up his computer chair to throw it across the room in excitement but unfortunately caused a party foul in the process.
Dearborn, Dreggs and I have been meeting up at NoNeck Studios every week for the past couple of months working on this new record. So far everything is coming out amazing and we're all really excited about the progress. There's a lot of new things happening with DSA and I can't say I'm not surprised about the way some things have panned out. Things seem to always happen for the better with this band, and I'm more than happy to be a part of it. I can remember the days when these type of things didn't matter as much to me because I was so focused on all the partying and mayhem. Things in my personal life have turned for the worst lately but I guess it has helped me better appreciate my life with deadstar. Sometimes I wish things were a little different in my personal life but I guess it's a learning point. Everyone keeps telling me, "Everything happens for a reason." I've found that to be true many different times, but the difference this time is that I can't foresee the outcome as I've been able to in the past. I guess I haven't really had an outlet like In the past when I was touring a lot more and had other things to focus on. Lately I've been a home-body, or hermit so-to-speak and It's brought me down in a lot of different ways. I guess I just can't wait to start touring again and put my focus on the good things and be in more positive atmospheres. A lot of it has to do with my self-confidence at the moment as well as my current view of the way people are acting around me and the way things have been occurring. I guess most of all it's about how I feel alone and that's one of the things I've always feared the most. People keep being shady and/or fucking me over and I'm getting really sick of it. Blame it on the economy, blame it on immaturity, blame it one what-ever. Unfortunately I have the ability to view things in this fucked up perspective that only makes things worse. I think about things too much and keep a lot of it inside. Maybe is just part of a Virgo trait, or maybe I've just experienced more than most people experience in a life time. What ever it is, I hate it.
Anyway, The new shit rocks. Dearborn finally got me a copy of all the new songs we've been working on - mixed down - and I wish I could blare it louder to drown out all of my thoughts but Sara is sleeping right next to me. She looks to cute to wake up at this moment.
Here's a few clips from the studio featuring clips from some of the new songs:
Nick Swardson was a funny motherfucker tonight. I cracked up at just about everything that came out of his mouth. Half way through the show, I noticed my face was hurting from laughing so much. I don't think Sara found everything he said as funny as I did, but hey, I'm easily amused anyway.
On another note, what's up with all those music clips that MTV plays before and after shows during the credits. All of the shit they play is fucking ANNOYING. They all SUCK. Why don't they ever play something cool. Like, this past week they've been playing Atmosphere. I don't know what everyone hears in that music, but all it is is a guy talking over a beat. He has no rhythm and half his shit makes no sense. maybe I should mix 5 different drugs one night and listen to his music, ... nah, it'll still suck.
So I was changing the channel today and I came across TruTV (former CourtTV). This creepy guy was staring off into space while the witness was talking about how he was acting crazy after killing some one. I began to read the subtitles to see what the hell this was all about and I got really confused for a minute. Can anyone explain this!? lol
Most of you already know that I am a freelance multimedia artist and programmer when I'm not touring or working with the band. I have been learning this new language called Ruby on Rails. It's relatively new, I think it's been around for only about 3 years now and it makes programming a hell of a lot easier when you know how to code in that language. Once I learn it, I will be able to finish all of my personal web site projects in a quarter of the time I would if I sat around trying to code it all in PHP (which is the language I am currently familiar with). I am making this post because and opportunity has come up where I had the chance to vote for the authors of the book and their project called RailsSpace. This book has helped explain the language to me WAY better than anything else I've read about it so far. I would appreciate if you guys would take 5 minutes and vote for them.
There's a new award to recognize people who help out the Ruby/Rails community (with educational & tutorial materials, among other things) but don't get much recognition for it. If you want to take the trouble to nominate them as their Ruby Hero, please go to:
Instructions: Where it asks for the WEB SITE that you want to nominate, just put in http://www.railsspace.com. It will pop up a button that says, "Yes, nominate for http://www.railsspace.com." Click it. Then a small form will pop up asking for some extra information. Fill it out honestly and for the NOMINEE, Type: "Michael Hartl and and Aurelius Prochazka" For the Reason why you are nominating them, just type out a couple of sentences about how these guys have done amazing work in helping people understand how to use Ruby On Rails.
If you would like a copy of the book in PDF format, just hit me up and I will give you a link. I would rather you guys purchase a copy if you really are into programming to show them that their work is worth it, but Micheal Hartl himself put up this PDF format as a thank you for people who are voting for him. If I send you this link, and it is abused, the book will be taken off online and will only be available for purchase so please be respectful to the writers.
I went to Circa Survive with Sara tonight. It's awesome that every time we go down to this specific venue, Sara and I get in for free. It's cause I'm in a band. I love that. It was also really awesome to see Sara so happy and jumping around. I also invited Mandy and John but they were unable to show up so I called Laura Mayhem and Damien to meet up with me at the show. Sara had a few other friends she was hanging with at the show and I kinda felt like a third wheel. I was a little more comfortable when Mayhem and Damien showed up. Regardless, Sara was jumping around during the show and singing along to the songs and it made me so happy to see her smiling again. She's just been pretty down lately from having to give herself this stupid shot that makes her so sick. Laura got to tell me about other fucking morons who were spreading rumors about Sara and how sick she's really been. People just can't keep our names out of their mouths, can they? It's like none of their fucking business, why the fuck even talk about someone you know nothing about?
On a good note, The doctor lessened her shot dose by a little since it's been making her feel so bad. Hopefully it works and lets her body build a tolerance to it quicker without making her so sick in the meantime. Like I've said a million times, I can't wait till she's done feeling that way and 100% happy again. Watching someone you love being so upset and physically shitty all the time is so tough, it's like in the movie ET where the alien gets sick and the little boy gets sick too. What's his name, Elliot? I can't remember. Anyway, It's like 3:30 and I'm tired as fuck. I have to make $690 in 3 days. I think I can do it, just gotta work damn hard. Sleep will help me achieve that. Good night you piece of shit journal application!
We're Back In The Studio tracking our 3rd full-length album, which is slated for release early this fall. We will be continually posting new video clips so you can see and hear what the band is about to unleash! This first clip is from the demo recording sessions of Track #2 entitled "Shadows". Check it out! Let me know what you guys think of the new music.
THANK GOD! I heard that she had cancer, that she was bald fromt reatment and that she was dying. God, people shouldn't do that... jesus, I don't know her in person or anything, but that freaked me out. I sent you a friend request on orkut by the way. Thanks for your answer btw.
Today I was thinking about starting a livejournal for scout to write about his whole life as a fox. I wish I would have done that with spooky while he was a kit, it's just so much work to keep up with. I'll probably do it with scout though since I have a lot more time now and Sara could help out if anything.
He made friends with the Dinosaur that Sara's dad got for her:
Also, he just learned to hump sara's foot while she's wearing socks and sleeping on the couch. oh dear...
